There are very good indoor and outdoor complexes at both Zweisel and Lam. There is also an outdoor pool at Regen.

Go-Karting
|
There is an indoor karting centre at Patersdorf, halfway between Bayerisch Eisenstein and Deggendorf, (about 25 minutes by car).

Tennis
|
There are 4 red clay courts in the village. These can be booked thorough Sport-Raith, in the village or directly at the tennis court kiosk. We do have some rackets and balls you can borrow, but would recommend you bring your own, if possible. Courts cost €8.00 per hour.

The area offers a huge variety and range of walking opportunities. From short easy routes to long and challenging ones. Routes are clearly signposted.
The village is on the route of several long distance paths
• The E6 European Long Distance Footpath from the Baltic See to the Adriatic Sea passes along the Czech border and right through the middle of the village, heading over the Arber mountain to the north and the Falkenstein and Rachel mountains to the South. • The river path goes along the Great Regen river from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Zwiesel and the town of Regen • The Glassmakers Way runs for 99 km along the Czech border from Lam in the north, to Grafenau in the south • The Bohemian Way follows the old trading paths from the DanubeValley to Bohemia , running from Deggendorf via Bischofsmais and Zwiesel to Bayerisch Eisenstein (65 km)
There are also a huge number of circular walks which can be undertaken from Gästehaus Am Berg. Please see the information file in the rooms for details
You can walk across the border into the Czech republic, but remember to take your passport and to use only roads or designated crossing points for walkers and cyclists. You can cross at a designated crossing point even when no-one is there to check your passport.
Good public transport allows for circular walks in other areas or to do one-way walks to or from the village. The local train service across the border to Spicak, gives easy access to walks there, including the Black and DevilLakes.

Cycling
|
We have bikes for hire. Sizes start at (20”) and go up til 28” mountain bikes . We also have a buggy (for 2 young children) that can be attached to an adult bike. We suggest you bring your own helmet, but helmets, locks and pumps are available.

Mountain Biking
|
There are a wide range of cycle routes in the area, including the Regental Radweg, which runs from Bayerisch Eisenstein to Regensburg and the Danube Radweg. Over the border in the Bohemian Forest there is a huge netwrok of very well signposted cycle routes. We have maps and details of some suggested routes at Gästehaus Am Berg.

Golf
|
There are 3 golf courses all within 45 minutes drive of Bayerisch Eisenstein and a Driving range at Mooshof (Bodenmais). Try the Deggendorfer Golfclub at Rusel, between Regen & Deggendorf, (The higest course in the country) or the Golfclub am National Bayerischer Wald at Haslach, St Oswald, not far from Grafenau or Golfpark Oberzwieselau at Schloss Oberzweiselau in Lindberg, close to Zwiesel. Angling
|
Angling – The Grosser Regen river is well known for its abundance of good quality fish. Seasons: April 16th – September 30th: river trout and coarse fish May 1st – November 30th: rainbow trout. Tickets are limited to 5 daily, so reservation is essential. Let us know if you would like more details.

Canoeing
|
Canoe hire is possible on the Black Regen river. You can paddle from Zweisel to Cham and beyond.

Horseriding
|
There is a stables at Dreieick, between Zwiesel and Regen. The stables have an indoor area and also offer rides in the forest for the more experienced. It currently costs 13 € per hour and English is spoken. Rides need to be booked in advance and we can do that for you if required.

Football
|
There is a football pitch at the entrance to the village from Zweisel. A football can be borrowed from us.

|
Mini-Golf
|
Mini golf can be found at the edge of the village, by the tennis courts and playing field. Open from 11am till dusk. Pay at kiosk at tennis courts.
